PROGRAMME TIMETABLE AND ROUTE
The meeting point, the route and a brief description of each stage are listed below:
DAY 1: BARCELONA - OUARZAZATE
Departure from BARCELONA on a scheduled flight with Royal Air Maroc bound for OUARZAZATE, via CASABLANCA. Transport pickup at the Airport and transfer to a 4 star hotel with accommodation in a double room.
DAY 2: OUARZAZATE - ARFOUD
Transport to the legendary Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou where several international films have been shot, such as Obelix, Gladiator, Sahara...Scheduled visit and then we will continue to the spectacular TODRA GORGE after stopping in the Valleys of Roses and Dades. We will have lunch and then we will go to ERFOUD, gateway to the Desert, to stay at the KASBAH HOTEL CHERGUI. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3: ARFOUD - ERG CHEBI
A day's journey through real desert, starting with a visit to the marine fossil quarry, oases and desert villages until arriving at the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a desert where we will replace the 4x4 vehicles with camels, «the 8x8 of the desert», to enter the dunes and enjoy an unforgettable sunset. Accommodation in bivouacs and Jaimas. A magical night beneath the stars.
DAY 4: ERG CHEBI - ARFOUD
You are recommended to wake up early to see the dawn from the peak of the great dunes.
Breakfast and another day's journey through desert, breathtaking landscapes, the Merzouga Oasis, Khamlia ("the village of Black men"), the ruins of the French fortress in Mifis, nomads in Jaimas and the village of Rizan with its large authentic market. Return to the KASBAH HOTEL CHERGUI where you will be able to have a swim in the swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and even a relaxing massage.
DAY 5: ARFOUD - FES
Departure heading north, passing the VALLEY OF ZIZ and crossing the Middle Atlas, with a visit to the "alpine" village of Ifrane and its impressive forest of hundred year old cedars and small monkeys to enter deep into the imperial city of Fez. Dinner and accommodation in a five star hotel.
DIA 6: FES
A free day to visit the city, the medina and the sights of Fez. Dinner and accommodation in a double room in a five star hotel.
DAY 8: FEZ - BARCELONA
Transfer to FEZ airport and end of the trip. |
